To begin with, celebrating occasions, such as wedding parties, birthdays etcetera is important due to following reasons. Firstly, these events are a way of expressing happiness since it is the only time when the entire family and even relatives living at far-away distances get the opportunity to meet each other. Otherwise, people rarely get time to spend with their near and dear ones. Secondly, celebrations also help the younger generations to understand the rituals and traditions of their community. Last but not least, in today’s hectic life schedule, people work all the time, and therefore they feel stressed. Hence, celebrations help to reduce their mental stress, and after enjoying these moments, they can concentrate well on their daily chores.

Although events are celebrated to enjoy special moments in our life, people are getting distracted from the main motive of such events, and spend too much money on them. In actuality, the objective of celebrations is to enjoy some time with our relatives, but nowadays people have made it the mean of showing their wealth. People spend a huge sum of money on decorations and food. They just want to show that they are superior to others, and this has further converted the events into a big business. For instance, a typical wedding dinner in my country, India, is now held in luxurious marriage palaces, and the cost of such dinners goes into lacs and puts the newlyweds into debt. In this way, an excessive amount of money is spent on today’s celebrations, which is not required at all.

In conclusion, holding parties on the occasion of weddings, birthdays, and other events is important as we can share those moments with our family members, friends, and relatives, and feel relaxed. However, spending more than our ability on parties is truly extravagant, because people spend a large sum of cash on these occasions just to show off their richness. Consequently, they trap in debt, which is not the real aim of celebrations.
